The research project "Large-scale storage and balancing services from Norwegian hydropower; Environmental, political, technical and economic aspects (HydroBalance)" was granted funding from the Research Council of Norway and industry partners in CEDREN in summer 2013. We invited industry partners and other stakeholders to meet researchers and discuss the topic. More than 25 participants from Norway, France, Spain, The Netherlands and Germany came together to exchange knowledge through a seminar on 23 October, and to discuss the research plans of the project in a workshop on 24 October in Trondheim, Norway.
